Celebrate National Bike Month This Weekend In The Woodlands

THE WOODLANDS, TX – The Woodlands Township is the place to be this week if you're an avid bicyclist. May is National Bike Month and there are a number of activities happening through the weekend in The Woodlands.

The Woodlands Township, with support from Bike The Woodlands Coalition, is offering a variety of events in May for residents to get involved and help create a better community through bicycling.

• Bike to Work Day takes place on Friday from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Northshore Park, located at 2505 Lake Woodlands Drive. Bike riders are invited to meet for refreshments and bike commuting information. Businesses are encouraged to remind employees of this unique opportunity to celebrate Bike Month in The Woodlands with Bike to Work Day.
• Bike The Woodlands Day, takes place this Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. This family-friendly event will also take place also at Northshore Park, and will include exhibits from local bike shops, bicycle clubs and other supporters of National Bike Month. Avid bikers will learn about bicycle maintenance and flat tire repair demonstrations, and receive bike safety information. There will also be children’s activities, a kids’ bike rodeo, live music, food and more. Looking to fix up your bike? Buy, sell or swap bike parts at the Bike Swap Meet. Sellers are still needed! Interested sellers will need to sign up to participate by visiting the registration site here.

Bike Month participants who have registered or are registered for a Bike Month ride or workshop may pick up their commemorative Bike Month T-shirt at the event by visiting The Woodlands Township tent inside Northshore Park.

Bring your no-longer-needed bikes to Northshore Park as a donation to Interfaith of The Woodlands. Bikes are requested to be in decent working condition.
