Robbery Prompts Lockdown At College Park High School: Police

A man who eluded police for several after robbing a Walgreens store in The Woodlands has been captured, police said.

THE WOODLANDS, TX — College Park High School in The Woodlands was placed on lock down early Tuesday morning after a man who was later captured, tried to rob a nearby Walgreens store, officials said.

According to a press release from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, a young white male wearing a surgical mask and carrying a backpack walked into the Walgreens store at 3061 College Park Drive at about 7:30 a.m. and went straight to the pharmacy located in the back of the store.

The pharmacist told investigators that the young man handed her a note asking for specific drugs and showed her what appeared to be a long gun under his jacket.

The suspect then jumped over the counter and walked out the back of the store, and across the street behind another building located at 17191 St Luke’s Way and disappeared.

Police were looking for a white male with short brown hair, at least 6-feet tall with a thin build. He was wearing a surgical mask, dark brown backpack, a jacket and olive green coveralls with hoodie.

K-9 officers and air support searched the area, and found the man hiding at about 11:45 a.m. He was taken to the Montgomery County Jail where he is being processed. He faces aggravated robbery charges. His name has not been released.
