Spring School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Spring is August 17. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Spring Independent School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• 8/10: First Day for Teachers
• 8/17: First Day for Students

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/18: No School for Students (Staff Development)

October

• 10/9: No School for Students (Staff Development)

November

• 11/6: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 11/20 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/11: No School for Students (Staff Development)
• 12/21: Last Day of First Semester
• 12/22 - 1/8: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/8: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/9: First Day of Second Semester
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

February

• 2/19: No School for Students (Staff Development)

March

• 3/12 - 3/16: No School (Spring Break)
• 3/30: No School (Spring Holiday)

April

• 4/9: No School for Students (Staff Development)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)
• 5/31: Last Day of School for Students, Early Dismissal Day

June

• 6/1: Last Day for Teachers
