The Woodlands Township Plans Tribute to Veterans

The event kicks off Friday, Nov. 11 and includes music and a drop-off booth.

THE WOODLANDS, TX - Celebrating the patriotism, service and sacrifice of military personnel present and past, The Woodlands Township joins in on the national recognition of veterans everywhere through a Veterans Day tribute happening Friday, Nov. 11.

Set at Town Green Park, located between the Cynthia Mills Pavilion and South Montgomery Library at 2099 Lake Robbins Dr., The Woodlands's ceremonial homage will begin at 4:30 p.m. with a presentation of colors and musical performances, featuring keynote speaker Brevet Brigadier Gen. Constance C. McNabb.

The National Center for Veterans Analysis and Statistics determined that the Texas veteran population consisted of almost 1.5 million residents in 2014 alone, and according to the U.S. Census, 32,052 veterans were accounted for in Montgomery County from 2010-2014.

There will be a care package drop-off booth on site, accepting donations of recommended items to be shipped to American troops. Needed items include food, snacks and drinks as well as toiletries. The service is expected to conclude at 5:30 p.m.
