The Woodlands Township: Township To Host Tax Prep Assistance With AARP Foundation Tax Aide

THE WOODLANDS, TEXAS (January 21, 2021) – The Woodlands Township, in partnership with AARP Foundation Tax-Aide, will host tax preparation assistance this tax season. Assistance will be offered to all, free of charge, with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 with low to moderate income.

Tax-Aide service in The Woodlands will be available at The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park, 5310 Research Forest Drive, on an appointment-only basis beginning February 8, 2022, through April 15, 2022. To make an appointment, please complete the online form or call The Recreation Center at Bear Branch Park at 281-210-3950. Please note, appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis. 

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers will prepare returns utilizing a drop-off service. Clients will meet with a volunteer to review their documents and return at another date to retrieve and sign their tax return, which will be filed electronically. Tax-Aide volunteers are trained and IRS-certified annually to ensure that they are current on all IRS requirements and changes to the tax code.
