Fight Over Woman Leads To Fatal Shooting In Peoria, PD Says

Peoria police say that the fatal shooting on Monday came as two men argued over a woman. The victim has been identified as Jamie Guerrero.

PEORIA, AZ – A fight over a woman led to a fatal shooting in Peoria, according to police. On Monday afternoon, police responded to the parking lot of 8940 West Olive Avenue where they found 26-year-old Jamie Guerrero dead from a gunshot wound.

Police say that Guerrero was arguing with 30-year-old Christopher Mott about 26-year-old Haley Mullinix.

Both men were armed, according to police. They say that when Guerrero reached for his gun, Mott shot him once, killing him.

Police say that Mullinix took Guerrero's gun and hid it. Detectives recovered the gun nearby.

Mott stayed at the scene and spoke with detectives who released him as they continue investigating.

Meanwhile, Mullinx was arrested and charged with hindering prosecution.
