Latest Recalls: Hot Dogs, Imported Veal, Beef And Pork Products
Recalls announced by the USDA May 16-19.

Beef franks sold at locations nationwide are being recalled because the ready-to-eat hot dogs may be contaminated with metal pieces, the USDA said in a news release.
The products, made by Cincinnati-based John Morrell and Co., were produced on Jan, 26. and bear establishment number “EST. 296” on the side of the package. The company identified the problem after receiving after receiving three complaints about metal object in the packages.
So far, there have been no confirmed injuries or reports of adverse reactions due to the consumption of these products.

The franks subject to recall are:
- 14 oz. sealed film packages containing “Nathan’s SKINLESS 8 BEEF FRANKS,” with a Use By date of Aug. 19, 2017.
- 16 oz. sealed film packages containing “Curtis BEEF MASTER Beef Franks,” with a Use By date of June 15, 2017.

Consumers who have purchased these products should either throw them away or return them. The recall is classified as a Class II recall, meaning the health risk is "low," according to the USDA.
Over the past week, the USDA has also issued a recall alert for the following products:
- The Osso Good Co. is recalling beef and pork products shipped to Arizona, California, Colorado, New York and Washington. Approximately 1,210 pounds are being recalled because the products were produced without the benefit of federal inspection.

- About 424 pounds of raw veal products imported from the Netherlands by a Maryland-based company because of a possible E-coli contamination. The products were distributed to restaurants and grocery stores in Florida and Massachusetts.
