Oregon Did You Remember To Turn Back Your Clocks Last Night?
Two years ago the Oregon Legislature voted to turn their backs on turning back the clock. Yet, we still do it. Why? It's complicated.

PORTLAND, OR — If you're reading this and it's Sunday morning, did you remember to turn your back your clocks? At 2 a.m., it suddenly became 1 a.m. Just as it has for 103 years. Almost the entire country makes the change from Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time. Then, in March, it will be time to set it back to Saving Time.
The thing is, two years ago the Oregon Legislature passed a bill doing away with changing the clocks twice a year. Oregon would just stay locked into Daylight Saving Time. Governor Brown signed it.
Yet, here we are. What gives?

While the law went into effect on January 1, 2020, it didn't really. There's a provision that says the change will only be made after California and Washington did the same.

Washington's on board but California has yet to make the change.
And even when all three states are in sync, the whole thing has to be approved by Congress. And those things usually go quite smoothly.
So, come Saturday night, before you go to bed, don't forget to change the clocks that need changing (smart watches and cell phones do it automatically). This way you can enjoy that extra hour of sleep.
For now.
