Prolific Portland Public Masturbator Gets 5 Year Sentence

PORTLAND, OR – Michael Dorgan is 55-years-old and will spend the next 55 months in prison. On Tuesday he was convicted of felony public indecency.

It was Dorgan's 10th conviction on the charge.

Deputy District Attorney Todd Jackson, who prosecuted Dorgan, called him "one of the most prolific public masturbators in Portland.

"I think we're at a point now with Mr. Dorgan that we've run out of available options for him other than incarceration," Jackson said in court.

Dorgan recently spent 18 months in treatment.

This latest conviction stems from an incident last month when Portland State University police received a report that a man was masturbating in front of women.

He was gone by the time police arrived but was arrested the following week.

After he serves his 55 months, Dorgan will then spend five months on supervised release.

As for Jackson's assessment of Dorgan being "one of the most prolific," public masturbators, the district attorney's office says that while they don't have an actual list, they are pretty sure that no one else has been convicted more than eight times.
