Russian Spies Directly Targeted Voting System In 2016 Election: Report

Russian government hackers may have directly targeted an election-voting software company as well as American election officials in 2016, according to a new report from The Intercept citing a National Security Agency top-secret document leaked to the website. Other outlets have confirmed the veracity of the document, though the NSA gave no comment. The Justice Department also announced the arrest of a former contractor who allegedly leaked classified information and many believe she was the source of The Intercept's information. (Patch)

Five workers are dead after a lone gunman, whom authorities described as a disgruntled former employee, opened fire at Fiamma Inc. in Orlando Monday morning. According to Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings, John Robert Neumann Jr. walked into the business around 8 a.m. armed with a handgun and knife. (Patch)


Ballet Dancer Rescues Man Shoved Onto Subway Track

A ballet dancer is being hailed as a hero for rescuing a man who was pushed onto the tracks of an Upper West Side subway station in Manhattan and rendered unconscious. Grayson Davis, 31, jumped onto the downtown tracks at the West 72nd Street and Broadway subway station late Saturday night to pick the man up and hoist him to safety, the New York Times reported. Davis told the Times that when he saw nobody was helping the man, he decided to spring into action. (Patch)
