VT 2016 Democratic Super Tuesday Full Results: Sanders Dominates Primary in Home State of Vermont

Where to vote, when polls close, and more presidential primary updates from Vermont as Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton square off.

BOSTON, MA - Minutes after polls closed in Vermont, native son and senator Bernie Sanders had already handily netted his home state’s nomination over Hillary Clinton.

Voting ended at 7 p.m. in Vermont Tuesday, and polls showed Sanders scooping up 86 percent of the vote, with 97 percent of precincts reporting Wednesday morning. That 73-point margin of victory was Sanders' largest on a night when Clinton took seven Super Tuesday states.

Sanders' other Super Tuesday victories are Colorado, Minnesota and Oklahoma. Just before midnight, the senator lost the once promising race in nearby Massachusetts.

The Vermont win secures the self-identified democratic socialist most of the Green Mountain State delegates up for grabs. You can explore delegate allocation for all of the Democrats’ Super Tuesday states below.
