The former Fox News executive has met with President Trump in recent weeks about the job, according to The New York Times.

Bill Shine, the former Fox News executive who left the company in May 2017, is expected to be offered a job at The White House, according to The New York Times. Shine, who was given the position of co-president of Fox News after former chairman and founder Roger Ailes was ousted in a sexual harassment scandal, will be offered the job of White House communications director, according to the Times.
The position has been vacant since Hope Hicks resigned in March. According to the Times, Shine has met with President Trump in recent weeks about the position. The Times' report said the move has not been finalized but two people familiar with the decision cited by the Times said it was likely to be announced and Shine had been offered the job by Trump.
