Don McGahn, White House Counsel, Leaving His Position
President Trump said McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — White House Counsel Don McGahn is leaving his position in the Trump administration, President Trump announced on Twitter Wednesday.
In his tweet, Trump said McGahn will be leaving his position in the fall, "shortly after the confirmation (hopefully) of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court."
Trump's announcement comes after The New York Times reported earlier this month that McGahn had given 30 hours of voluntary interviews to Special Counsel Robert S. Mueller's team. According to the Times' reporting, McGahn and his lawyer feared he was being set up because Trump allowed McGahn to speak freely with investigators. As a result, McGahn cooperated extensively with the special counsel, the Times reported.
