Trump Administration To Brief All 100 Senators On North Korea Developments
In an unusual move, administrative officials will brief the entire chamber of Congress at the White House.

WASHINGTON, DC — The Trump administration will brief all 100 senators about North Korea at the White House on Wednesday. In recent weeks, tensions between the United States and North Korea have grown, fueling the concern of government officials and people across the globe.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford, Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and Secretary of State James Mattis will brief the senators in a very rare meeting. While the administration frequently shares vital national security information with senators and member of congress, officials usually travel to Capitol Hill to do so. It's also uncommon for all 100 senators to attend such a briefing, and for such high-level officials to provide the information.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer announced at a televised briefing on Monday that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had called for the meeting.

North Korea's nuclear capabilities, and particularly its threat to neighboring countries, pose a challenging threat for the United States to grapple with. President Trump and the administration have projected confidence on the issue; Trump himself said that North Korea has "gotta behave," but no clear strategy for mitigating the threat has yet emerged.
