Trump Impeachment Resolution Killed In Decisive House Vote
The resolution was brought by Rep. Al Green, who said Trump's administration has been steeped in bigotry and racism.

WASHINGTON, DC — Members of the House of Representatives on Wednesday overwhelmingly voted down a resolution that would impeach President Donald Trump. Members of the lower chamber voted 364-58 in favor of shelving the resolution, which was brought by Democratic Rep. Al Green of Texas.
Green brought the resolution on the basis that Trump has associated his presidency with bigotry and racism. He argued that Trump committed a high misdeed, which warrants impeachment, trial and removal from office. He cited incidents such as Trump's blaming both sides for violence at a deadly white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, and his recent sharing of hateful, anti-Muslim videos posted online by a fringe British extremist group.
Republican leaders in the House then held a vote to table the resolution, which postpones its consideration.

Democrats overwhelmingly joined Republicans in voting in favor of tabling the resolution, with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi telling her fellow lawmakers: “Now is not the time to consider articles of impeachment."
“It’s disappointing that extremists in Congress still refuse to accept the President’s decisive victory in last year’s election," the White House told Patch in a statement. "Their time would be better spent focusing on tax relief for American families and businesses, and working to fund our troops and veterans through the holiday season rather than threaten a government shutdown."
