Spur Of The Moment is a DC area-based jazz and R&amp;B band who has inspired thousands of fans across the world with a vibe that continues to define the word band for 30 years. Always poised to present that special brand of jazz and R&amp;B. The list of artists that have worked with this immensely talented unit grows yearly. Their resume reads like a "who’s who" of the R&amp;B and Jazz worlds. From the legendary George Duke to Al Jarreau, Patti Austin, Ledisi, Raheem Devaughn, and Lalah Hathaway. Once you experience the magic of the popular ensemble in action, or groove along to Spur of the Moment’s exciting CD “N 2 Deep”, you will quickly become a fan. “N 2 Deep” features GRAMMY-nominated Maimouna Youssef, and incredible singer/songwriter Levi Stephens, as well as an appearance by their friend, GRAMMY-nominated Maysa.

Chicago treasure, singer, and entrancing band leader Tammy McCann makes her Keystone Korner debut to share new stories and interpret holiday favorites, delivering a hard-swinging set for every listener. Named the Chicago Tribune’s 2020 Person of the Year in Jazz, Tammy McCann is an internationally recognized jazz vocalist and is currently Artist in Residence for the Music Institute of Chicago. Her powerful, sultry, and emotionally charged voice paints pictures and tells stories by merging classical vocal technique and gospel esthetic with jazz to create a sound that is completely her own.
McCann has performed with such luminaries as Ramsey Lewis and NEA Jazz Master Von Freeman, John Clayton, Branford Marsalis, Joe Locke, Charles McPherson, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and Carmen Bradford, and has also toured as a ‘Raelette’ with the great Ray Charles. McCann has thrilled audiences in festivals and clubs world-wide from Bangkok, Thailand to the Harrods Atticus in Greece.

Combining the classic jazz-crooner elegance of Frank Sinatra and Nat “King” Cole with the earthy sophistication of soul legends Stevie Wonder and Donny Hathaway, Merry Christmas from José James raises the bar for the contemporary Christmas show. James breathes new life into much-loved holiday classics such as “The Christmas Song”, “White Christmas” and “Let it Snow” as well as new compositions by James and his partner Talia Billig. In addition to showcasing his crooner chops, the 50 Shades Darker singer explores his jazz side with a joyful rendition of John Coltrane’s “My Favorite Things.” 
A jazz artist for the hip-hop generation, José James artfully blurs the lines between traditional and contemporary jazz, hip-hop, soul, funk, pop and rock. He has released 12 critically-acclaimed albums in as many years for labels such as Brownswood, Impulse, Blue Note and his own co-founded Rainbow Blonde Records, and is the recipient of both the Edison Award and L'Académie du Jazz Grand Prix. James has collaborated with many notable artists such as Flying Lotus, Robert Glasper, Lalah Hathaway, Ledisi, Aloe Blacc and Jason Moran.

Marcus Johnson is back in town for the holidays to celebrate this Christmas, December 23rd &amp; 24th! What better way to bring in the holidays and close out the year than with family, friends &amp; spirited music. Marcus and Friends will make sure to put you in the holiday groove. Come ready to jam to MJ's classics and crank up the holiday!
Keyboardist and bandleader Marcus Johnson mans the boundaries between smooth jazz and modern R&amp;B. While pursuing his JD and MBA at Georgetown, Marcus independently produced and distributed his first CD (Lessons in Love), which sold more than 40,000 units; a phenomenal success for an unknown independent artist’s debut release. This album helped him launch his career as a renowned jazz keyboardist/pianist, and later, he released his second CD (Inter Alia), with staggering success. This success caught the attention of Black Entertainment Television (BET) founder and businessman Robert L. Johnson, who invested and partnered with Marcus to establish Marimelj Entertainment Group.

Praised for its authentic, soulful, and orchestral sound, The String Queens (TSQ) is a dynamic trio that creates stimulating musical experiences that inspire diverse audiences to love, hope, feel, and imagine! With an array of repertoire spanning from the Baroque era to the Jazz Age to today’s Billboard Hot 100 Chart, TSQ performs versatile programs that take listeners on a rousing musical journey through time and a multitude of musical genres.
Based in Washington, D.C., TSQ has been featured in performances at renowned concert halls and venues across America, including Carnegie Hall in New York City and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in the nation’s capital. Notable appearances include a special performance dedicated to Vice President Kamala Harris at the “We Are One” Presidential Inauguration Concert in January 2021 and rendering a spotlight presentation of TSQ’s electrifying arrangement of Harry Styles’s hit song “Golden” for the world’s most prestigious tennis tournament “The Championships, Wimbledon” in June 2021. As an ensemble who frequents the D.C. jazz scene, other headlining performances include multiple appearances at the DC Jazz Festival and the Capital Jazz Fest.

Isaiah Collier Plays John Coltrane - 100 Years Kickoff Celebration!
John Coltrane (1926 - 2026) departed this mortal almost 100 years ago; today he remains among us, more alive than ever. His sound continues to grab the ears of an ever-widening circle of fans. His legend is stone solid: planted firmly in our culture as that of any 20th century musical giant. His saxophone sound—brooding, searching, dark—is still one of the most recognizable in modern jazz. His influence stretches over styles and genres, and transcends cultural boundaries. 
Isaiah Collier is a Chicago native, born and raised on the city’s South Side. A composer, arranger, educator, and self-described “Sonic Scientist,” Collier has emerged as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary jazz. DownBeat Magazine has hailed him as “The Next Sax Giant”—a title befitting an artist who continues to reshape the sonic landscape of modern jazz. Collier is known for his relentless pursuit of blending the rich traditions of the past with the urgency of the present to forge the sound of the future.
Among his many honors, Collier has been named a Steve Jobs Archive Fellow, Chicagoan of the Year in Jazz (2024), and was featured on the front cover of DownBeat Magazine, the world’s oldest jazz publication. His music has also been recognized by The New York Times, where his work was listed among the Best Jazz Albums of the Year. Described as a maverick of creative and improvisational force, he has collaborated with jazz luminaries such as Kahil El’Zabar, Ambrose Akinmusire, Craig Taborn, Joe Dyson, Azar Lawrence, NEA Jazz Masters Billy Hart, Marshall Allen, and Denardo Coleman (son of free jazz pioneer Ornette Coleman), as well as Nicole Mitchell, Randy Brecker, Billy Harper, Marquis Hill, and Makaya McCraven.

Her group The Green Project fuses traditional classical technique with popular songs and original pieces in various genres – including R&amp;B, Pop, Soul, Funk, Jazz and more.
Dr. Chelsey Green is a passionate educator and advocate for music education and equity in the arts. A cultural leader, she made history as the first Black woman and youngest person ever elected to serve as Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Recording Academy®, marking two historic milestones in the organization’s 68-year history. Dr. Green’s performance resume includes the GRAMMY Awards with Lizzo, CBS’s The Late Show, NPR Tiny Desk, headlining countless festivals, and even soloing at Carnegie Hall at age 16.

An exploration of the music of celebrated Jewish songwriters, whose achievements would come to dominate that body of work known as the “Great American Songbook.” Seth and the band will be swinging classic tunes from the likes of the Brothers Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Irving Berlin, Harold Arlen, and more. Through music and insightful commentary from Seth, we'll explore the Jewish influence on these great American songwriters and how the lines began to blur between the music of the old country and the music of the New World. Expect lots of toe-tapping jazz, swing, and just a wee bit o' klezmer for good measure!
Seth Kibel is one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier woodwind specialists, working with some of the best bands in Klezmer, Jazz, Swing, and more. Wowing audiences on clarinet, flute, and saxophone, Seth has made a name for himself in the Washington/Baltimore region, and beyond. He is the featured performer with The Kleztet, Bay Jazz Project, Music Pilgrim Trio, Daryl Davis Band, The Natty Beaux, and more. Winner of 28 Washington Area Music Awards (Wammies), including "Best World Music Instrumentalist" (2003-11) and "Best Jazz Instrumentalist" (2005, 2007-8, 2011-14). His most recent recording, "Clown With A Stick," was released in May 2023 on the Azalea City Recordings record label. He's won numerous prizes in the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (MASC) including the Grand Prize in 2016 and a Gold Prize in 2022. When he's not performing, Seth frequently lectures on a variety of topics in music history for numerous institutions, including the Osher Lifelong Learning programs at Johns Hopkins and Towson Universities.

New York based and Canadian born singer, trumpeter, and songwriter Bria Skonberg has been described as one of the “most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation” (Wall Street Journal). The Juno Award winner has sung the music of Aretha Franklin alongside Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child, played with U2 at the iconic Apollo Theater, sat in with the Dave Matthews Band, was a featured guest with Jon Batiste, performed as part of The Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour, and sang the National Anthem at Madison Square Garden for a NY Rangers game.

In 2007, NEA Jazz Master and GRAMMY Award winning trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis formed the Uptown Jazz Orchestra (UJO) for the purpose of keeping important jazz music traditions alive; such as riff-playing, spontaneous group improvisations, and collective New Orleans instrumental polyphony. At the time, Marsalis realized that the New Orleans music community was lacking the infusion of young homegrown talent outside of the great brass band tradition, and chose to form an orchestra that could present traditional, classic, and modern compositions with authenticity. Since that time, UJO has grown into one of the premier large ensembles in the world, releasing three CDs to critical acclaim, and touring locally, nationally, and internationally.
Uptown Jazz Orchestra’s mission is to promote the rich cultural legacy of American music through both entertaining and educational performances. These shows are designed specifically with the intent of folks having a good time… hands clapping, toes tapping and rump shaking!

Music and spirituality have always been intertwined in the artistic vision of trumpeter, bandleader, composer, educator, and activist Sean Jones. He has performed at and/or with Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, Wynton Marsalis ensemble, SFJAZZ Collective, Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster, Nancy Wilson, Dianne Reeves, Gerald Wilson, and Marcus Miller. He is president of the Jazz Education Network and holds the Richard and Elizabeth Case Chair in Jazz Studies at The John Hopkins University’s Peabody Institute in Baltimore. As well as artistic Director for the NYO JAZZ Program of Carnegie Hall.
Forging a deeply personal sound from a broad swath of the jazz landscape, internationally acclaimed saxophonist, educator, composer, arranger and Baltimore native TIM GREEN has emerged as a powerful voice, melding deftly swinging hard bop, fluid modernity and soulful gospel. Green returned to his native Baltimore, where he is a key component of the city’s burgeoning jazz, and music education community.
