Cape Cod Maritime Museum

The story of the coasting schooner Alice S. Wentworth spans more than a century and marks the final chapter of America’s sailing coastwise trade- a feat that makes this little ship remarkable. Pair her with the larger-than-life Vineyard captain Zeb Tilton, and it becomes clear there was no other way for her story to be told. Join master model maker Tom Lauria as he unveils the people, the ship, and the meticulous model that brings their legacy vividly to life.

Drawing on her decades of experience as a Shellfish Biologist and Conservation Administrator for Orleans, Sandy will share how her own collection grew, often in unexpected ways, reflecting both the rich diversity of life along our shores and the hidden stories they reveal about us.
