Since he could hold a newspaper or pick up a pen, Carl had a knack for the written word and was encouraged to write. When he left home to attend University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, Carl studied the craft of journalism and earned his bachelor's degree in print journalism. Throughout college he put his skills to the test and wrote for the UWM Post and a monthly community paper in Bay View. Carl most recently was a staff writer for The Waukesha Freeman and The Oconomowoc Enterprise.

I vote for the candidate who can confront these challenges and seize opportunities to make the country, state and community better.

Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Pat Roggensack collected 85 percent of the vote in Menomonee Falls in Tuesday's state Supreme Court primary. She'll face Marquette University law professor Ed Fallone of Whitefish Bay in the April 2 election.
