Established in 1986, Virginia Peninsula Foodbank has been the leading hunger relief organization across the greater Peninsula serving the 1 in 7 Virginians who experience the daily hardships of food insecurity.

The Foodbank plays an important active role in meeting community needs to help those whose food insecurity has been magnified and who are facing hunger. Thousands of families have been impacted by COVID-19 for the first time in their life. The pandemic has brought so much change and uncertainty in our lives, from where we work to how we buy our groceries, and how children are learning from home vs. in the classroom. The economic impact of the virus means a long-term financial hardship for families across America. Getting back on their feet may take a while.

Food bankers, volunteers, and partner agencies are on the front line ensuring our neighbors have the food they need during this difficult time. In order to meet the consistent need for healthy meals, the Foodbank partners with over 200 member agencies and feeding programs to distribute food effectively and minimize hunger in our communities. By delivering hope through our Mobile Food Pantry Program or providing food for children to help bridge the hunger gap over the weekends, your support of our feeding programs offers essential healthy food resources to our neighbors who confront the daily challenges of food insecurity.

Together, over the last 35 years, we have provided almost 178 million meals. Hunger relief is truly a collaborative effort, and with the support of our partner agencies, generous donors, and committed volunteers, we are able to provide nourishment and hope to our neighbors in need each day. Good food today makes for a brighter future tomorrow.
