During the open house, current families are also invited to stop in, visit the school and watch staff work.
Video games will be available, and attendees can also bring their own.
The school with the most donations will receive a concert from the girl group Fifth Harmony.
The Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences production of The Nutcracker runs most Tuesdays through Saturdays at 10 a.m., with certain performances at 12:30 p.m., through Dec. 28.
As the Lemont Center for the Arts expands its programming, it is in need of volunteers.
The computer class will be held from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St.
Hope and Friendship Foundation is seeking donations and volunteers to provide a Thanksgiving meal for local families in need.
Participants are encouraged to consider a gingerbread-themed ornament to complement the upcoming Downtown Gingerbread Festival.
The program will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 11. Space is limited.
Attendees will learn about the mountains, volcanoes, and tropical beaches that reveal the biodiversity of Central America’s most peace-loving country.
The annual Holiday Happenings event will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at Oak Trace, 200 Village Drive, Downers Grove.
