Get acquainted with acrylics! &nbsp;Join artist Samantha Palmeri in an exploration of abstract gestural painting. &nbsp;Learn how to mix colors, create textures, evoke a mood, and create an original piece of art. Participants will draw from nature and our surroundings. &nbsp;A $25 non-refundable materials fee is due by January 8. &nbsp;If the materials fee is not received by the due date, your seat will be forfeited to the next person on the waitlist.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Stephanie Gaudinier, lead trainer at Iron Health Peekskill, will lead a supportive, low-impact class for patrons ages 65+ that will focus on mobility, stability, and strength. &nbsp;Exercises will include resistance bands and light weights. &nbsp;There will be no heavy lifting. &nbsp;No matter your fitness level, you will find expert support in a safe and welcoming space. &nbsp;Stephanie will meet you where you are and adjust your workout based on your individual abilities to help you feel confident and capable. Ageless Strength:  A Beginner's Workout Program for Ages 65+

The tiny hamlet of Annsville was home to some of Peekskill and Cortlandt's first industries. &nbsp;Its lampblack factory was the precursor to a crayon dynasty, and the blast of furnace on the shore of Annsville Creek had its own narrow-gauge railroad connecting to the Croft Mines of Putnam. &nbsp;The large wire mill at the base of Lampblack Hill was the area's biggest employer, yet not a trace remains of these vibrant industries and others that were crucial to the existence of this small hamlet. Join local historian and lecturer Kirk Moldoff to learn more about this lost area of Annsville.&nbsp; Visit the library's Web site to register.

Create a dynamic still life and learn the fundamentals of painting from observation with artist Samantha Palmeri. &nbsp;In this workshop, students will learn the art of observation. &nbsp;A still life will be set up in the classroom for students to copy.
