Kimberly Haidinger is the debut author of A Kids' Guide to Climate Activism, the first book in The Climate Action Vocabulary Series—a nonfiction collection designed to empower middle grade readers with the language and tools to change the world. With a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Quinnipiac University and a Sustainability Certificate from the University of Michigan, Kimberly combines a lifelong passion for education and storytelling with a deep commitment to climate advocacy. Before becoming an author, Kimberly spent 25 years in the franchising industry as a business owner and was once a professional ballroom dancer. Her journey from dance floors to boardrooms to climate-focused classrooms reflects her belief that change begins with bold steps—and often, with the right words.
Inspired by her teenage daughter, Luna – the illustrator, and a desire to preserve the planet for future generations, Kimberly began a personal mission to understand and share how individual actions can combat climate change. Her time living in Denmark deeply influenced her perspective on sustainable living and showed her that global communities are rising to meet this challenge with hope and innovation. When she’s not writing, Kimberly blogs about climate-friendly living and continues to learn everything she can about making a difference—one small step, one young reader, and one powerful word at a time.
