So many people talk about burnout. The emotional exhaustion we face in our daily life is a big problem, individually and collectively. Everyone wants the answers to this elusive problem. We look for places to go and relax, things to do to energize, and ways to calm ourselves. We even make massive changes to our life. But, the change has to come from within. While the answer is predictably Buddhist, it is the truth.
During this series of classes we will look at how we can recharge our spiritual batteries and maintain a good rhythm in our daily life. With some simple changes, we can lift our mind and find ourselves with more mental clarity and greater energy to give to others. Take some time for yourself, so you can maintain yourself for those who are counting on you!

Stress is such a painful, troublesome feeling, and it doesn’t bring a resolution to any of the difficulties that are making us feel stressed. We are better served to look at our difficulties with a clear mind and to find meaningful solutions. 
This special set of classes is perfectly timed for the hecticness of the holiday season. With so many responsibilities pulling us in so many directions, it is helpful to have wisdom methods and meditations that can reduce and even eliminate the stress in our mind. We know how busy folks are, and would like to remind you that it is not necessary to attend the entire series.

Are you busy? Stressed? A bit tired, rundown, or otherwise in need of a break? Take a moment of peace for yourself. This won't be a selfish moment. We are hosting a 3 session retreat from 3 to 7:15pm so that folks can take a bit of time out of their busy schedule and develop a peaceful mind. The purpose of this peace is so that everyone in our life can benefit. 
Let's face it, how we feel affects how we act, and even on a subtler level affects the energy we give off, and that in turn has an impact on others. But, if we are peaceful, positive, and happy, the effect of that will be very meaningful for everyone in our life. So, don't let the busy-ness of the year-end get you all scrooged up. Calm your mind with meditation!

 Join us for a special candlelight service and Prayers for World Peace at 5pm on Christmas Eve. Take time to bring your mind inward and create an inner calm that you can share with your loved ones in the coming days, and then fill that calm space with the radiance of joy, becoming a source of happiness and goodness. 
Everyone is welcome to this candlelight service where we look at bringing our good heart to the forefront of everything we do as the year end holidays settle upon us.

"Out with the old, in with the new" is more than a cliché—it is a practice. This year, we invite you to leave behind more than just the passing days. Join us to cultivate a peaceful mind and a wise heart for the year ahead.
Gen Kelsang Wangpo, our Resident Teacher and Buddhist monk, will offer a talk on using Buddha’s wisdom to navigate the future with grace. Following the teaching we will host a community gathering to celebrate the transition together and conclude with Tara Prayers.
