 copper plate etching in two sessions. Explore aquatint, multi-plate 
registration, and create hand-pulled prints with classic printmaking 
techniques.</h6>

<h3>What you’ll do</h3>
<p>Join our next two-session immersive workshop and study the art of copper plate etching!<br>This
 course is focused on achieving the rich tones of aquatint and the 
precision of multi-plate registration. This is your opportunity to learn
 a 500-year-old printmaking process with techniques favored by masters 
like Rembrandt, Goya, Picasso, and Mary Cassatt.<br><br>In the first 
meeting, you will learn (or review) how to prepare your copper plate, 
design your image, apply a ground, and then etch with a spray paint 
aquatint. Between sessions, your instructor will carefully manage the 
etching process by immersing your plate in the etchant solution. During 
the second meeting, you will learn to ink your plate(s), prepare paper, 
and operate the printing press. You will also take part in a multi-plate
 registration demonstration to incorporate various colors and layers 
into a single print.<br><br>Upon completing this workshop, you will have
 the skills to create beautiful, hand-pulled prints and take home your 
etched copper plate, ready for independent practice during printmaking 
open studio sessions. This comprehensive course also covers essential 
knowledge of papers, tools, and inks.&nbsp;<br><br>An introduction to etching
 course is recommended as a prerequisite; however, participants with 
prior etching and print studio experience are encouraged to join. 
Continuing etching students will receive as much instruction as they 
want, and can work with the instructor to develop projects based on 
their next level of learning. Interested participants are welcomed to 
contact the instructor for any questions about the prerequisites of this
 workshop.&nbsp;<br><br><strong>Please Note: </strong>This class requires 
hand dexterity to maneuver the etching tools. Participants should feel 
comfortable using tools with sharp edges.&nbsp;</p>

<h3>What you’ll do</h3>
<p>Give
 new life to old t-shirts by learning how to braid a rug. You’ll start 
by turning worn tees into soft, stretchy yarn, then practice the 
four-strand, no-sew braiding technique. In class, you’ll begin your own 
rug and leave with the skills to finish it at home. This process offers a
 relaxing, meditative way to create something both beautiful and 
practical. Please bring four old t-shirts (preferably each a different 
color) to cut up.<br><br><strong>Note:</strong> the technique involves repetitive motion with both hands, so hand endurance and some finger dexterity are required.</p>

<p>This
 workshop is an introduction to mid-range soda firing, with hands-on 
training in the process of loading, firing, and maintaining our 
crossdraft kiln named “Julia”.<br><br>Participants in this workshop will
 learn the fundamentals of atmospheric soda firing. The class will be 
instructed in the safety and care of the equipment as well as guided 
through the firing process.<br><br>This workshop includes instruction on
 glazing, wadding the ceramic pieces, loading the kiln, firing the kiln,
 and kiln maintenance. Demos and Lectures will also happen during the 
firing.<br><br>Participants will bring bisque-ware to be fired as bare 
clay or with slipped surfaces. There will be an assortment of flashing 
slips and glazes to apply to the bisqueware on loading day for those who
 choose to use them. <br><br>Each participant gets 1 cubic foot of firing space.<br><br>(Tip; Make sure all your pots fit approximately into a milk crate which is 1 cubic foot of space).<br><br>This firing will be a reduction fired cone 6 with sprayed soda at the end. </p>

jazz, blues and rock and roll music. Swing is a form of social partner 
dance that evolved from Lindy Hop in the 1940s, and is based in 
six-count patterns that are simplified forms of Lindy Hop patterns. 
Enjoy a beautiful community of swing dancers and learn how to social 
dance. Absolutely no experience or partner needed. Simply show up, and I
 will provide the dance partner, as most students come alone/single.

course will help you hone your throwing skills in the studio.</h2>
<h3>What you’ll Create</h3>

 session is designed for people who have already taken multiple wheel 
throwing courses. A continuation of our intermediate course, this upper 
level / advanced course will help you hone your throwing skills through 
more complex demos, and nuanced approaches to technical throwing. In 
this 8 week course, students will dive deep into developing their own 
unique voice as they build a technical toolset for the independent 
maker. In addition to throwing, surface decoration techniques will be 
explored as well as the opportunity to experiment with different clay

<p>A
 class that is all about pinching! With instructor Dan, students will 
learn handbuilding methods to coil and pitch their vessels. With 
specific direction in learning the techniques to build any size of pot, 
from a large scale vessel to a small cup. We will learn how to support 
scaling up our forms through drying methods, interior ‘bone’ structure, 
and mastering directionality with our hands. There will be a focus on 
how we each make a mark upon a pot, and how to do so with purpose. Each 
student will create work that reflects the time-honored nature of 
handbuilding; when intention is given to the silhouette of a form, the 
lip of a cup, and/or the comfort of a handle.<br><br>Each class will involve a warmup, a demo, and worktime. Most classes will have (fun&amp;thoughtful) homework.</p>

 meditative art practices to quiet the mind, unlock creativity, and 
explore gentle drawing prompts for all skill levels in a mini art 
retreat.</h6>

<h3>What you’ll do</h3>
<p>If
 you are someone who wishes to start or enhance a creative practice, who
 craves a mini art retreat, or who struggles to sit still during 
meditation; you are in the right place. This gentle and immersive 
session will introduce you to a myriad of drawing processes to quiet the
 mind, open space for new possibilities, liberate creative blocks and 
generate a sense of peace. We’ll experiment with several meditative art 
making prompts including: breath drawing, mandala making, drawing 
mantra, eyes-free space exploration, name portraits, asemic writing 
labyrinth making among other fun and simple processes. While we will 
have some time to add color during the workshop, expect to take home a 
collection of works-in-progress suitable for continued exploration on 
your meditative arts practice journey. Participants of all experience 
levels and abilities will take home low risk, high reward meditative art
 activities that can be repeated infinitely.<br><br><strong>Note:</strong> There will be a one-hour lunch break. Bring a bag lunch or plan to grab a bite nearby.</p>
