Bio

Sam is a proud Waynite (is that what we’re called?), born and raised and is now a taxpaying property owner there with her husband.

She had been working as a local news reporter for nearly seven years with the Suburban and Wayne Times and Main Line Suburban Life before joining Patch in February 2011.

Sam became interested in journalism by working at the student newspaper of her high school, Merion Mercy Academy. She then studied print journalism at American University in Washington, DC.

Sam returned to the Main Line in 2002 briefly before a short sojourn living in France. She returned again to her hometown to work as a barista at the Gryphon Café, taking in the town gossip before being hired to report the news.

She hopes that she can provide the most compelling local news and life coverage for those who live, work and have an interest in Radnor and Haverford townships.

But the more readers who are involved with her site the more comprehensive it will be, so don’t be shy to call or e-mail Sam with news tips, suggestions for the site, or anything else. Really. It’s her job to talk to you.

And be sure to follow Sam on Twitter @RadnorPatch.

Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable. This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.
