Sherell Williams was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She received her bachelor's in Communication with a concentration in journalism from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA where she served as managing editor for the student newspaper, Broadside, and later the Best of Mason issue of the student-run VOX|POP magazine.
