Also known as Yule, the longest night and the shortest day of the year and the return of the light. This is a pagan holiday, which is a nature based spirituality. A Yule ritual will be conducted to honor the return of the sun and the birth of the Sun God. A Holiday Cookie Sale will follow the ceremony.

Unitarian Universalist Ocean County Congregation Presents Winter Solstice -  the Return of Light

This presentation will show ways in which UU members can have honest conversations with individuals who differ in values and opinions while continuing to believe and act compassionately with respect for the other person. We need to act in ways that promote justice, equity and compassion in our human relationships. Various strategies will be taught on how to listen and understand where the other person is coming from while also gently challenging them on beliefs that are contrary to promoting justice, equity and compassion.
