Saturday night’s moon will be as much as 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than other full moons of 2012.

Tom Roebuck grew up in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to San Diego after graduating from The Ohio State University. He spent 14 years with Copley News Service as the night wire desk editor, travel editor and features writer.

He continues to struggle with an addiction to chicken wings.
