• Dad Accused of Kidnapping 5-Year-Old To Avoid Upcoming Surgery (cafemom.com) — A 5-year-old boy taken by his non-custodial father was safely recovered after Bountiful City Police located them and arrested the father. The boy’s mother had raised alarms after he disappeared following a visitation and an email about avoiding surgery. A widely shared social media plea and multi-day search ended with the child back home and the case now in authorities’ hands.
   

• Cottonwood girls volleyball falls just short of a state playoff berth (southsaltlakejournal.com) — Cottonwood’s girls volleyball season included a tough sweep on the road at Bountiful before the Colts rallied with theme nights and key wins to chase a 4A state berth. Despite late losses that ended their playoff hopes, the team improved on last year’s record. Five seniors now graduate after helping raise fan interest and competitiveness.
