• ROTC instructor with training rifle sparks lockdown at Layton school (fox13now.com) — Northridge High School in Layton briefly went into lockdown Monday morning after someone reported a person entering the building with a weapon, later confirmed as an ROTC instructor carrying a training replica rifle. Layton City Police quickly investigated, the school was deemed safe, and classes resumed within about 30 minutes, with district officials promising safety protocol improvements.
   

• ‘Stamp Out Suicide': How a Utah man is using a newspaper to save lives (ksltv.com) — A Layton-based nonprofit leader is using a self-funded “Stamp Out Suicide” newspaper to support people experiencing homelessness across Davis and Salt Lake counties while sharing messages of hope that have already helped save lives. Residents can submit encouraging notes online, knowing donations go directly to printing more papers and providing food, clothing, showers, and other essentials for vulnerable neighbors.
