Idaho quadruple killer studied Vermonster Ted Bundy

The self-admitted killer of four Idaho college students studied the killing strategy used by an infamous criminal - Vermont native and serial murderer Ted Bundy, police say.

Bryan Kohberger, who has agreed to plead guilty to killing four University of Idaho students, reportedly searched for information about serial murderer Bundy in the weeks before and after the 2022 murders.

Bundy, a one-time law student, was sentenced to death after having been connected to dozens of co-ed murders nationwide in the 1970s.

Bundy was born Nov. 24, 1946 at the Lund Home for unwed mothers in Burlington Vermont.

This information came to light through data recovered from Kohberger's phone, according to reports from Dateline and NBC News.

Kohberger has agreed to plead guilty to murdering four Idaho students as part of a deal with prosecutors to avoid the death penalty, an attorney for one victim's family said.

During the investigation of the Idaho murders, authorities unearthed information on Kohberger's phone showing that Bundy was one of his role models.

Bundy was found to have abducted, raped and murdered dozens of young women and girls between 1974 and 1978.

His modus operandi typically consisted of convincing his target that he was in need of assistance or duping them into believing he was an authority figure.

Bundy would then lure his victim to his vehicle, at which point he would bludgeon her unconscious, then restrain them with handcuffs before driving her to a remote location to be sexually assaulted and killed.

Bundy died in the electric chair Jan. 24, 1989.

Bundy was born Theodore Robert Cowell on Nov. 24, 1946, to Eleanor Louise Cowell at what was then called the Elizabeth Lund Home for Unwed Mothers in Burlington, according to Wiki.

His biological father's identity has never been confirmed; his original birth certificate apparently assigns paternity to a salesman and U.S. Air Force veteran named Lloyd Marshall, though a copy of it listed his father as unknown.

The police were never able to confirm how many women Bundy killed but he was a suspect in dozens of others when he was put to death following his conviction in several murders.

Who can grieve enough for Bundy's victims and the fact that Kohberger apparently used that savage Burlington, Vermont native as a role model in slaying his poor victims and then hiding in plain sight - Bundy style.
