The popular Democrat lieutenant-governor candidate's rising unpopularity in a new poll shows maybe he should have kept the ponytail.
The poll shows ex-lieutenant governor David Zuckerman's unpopularity at 34%, the highest unpopular number of any of the current top-tier candidates in Vermont.

The same poll, however, shows Zuckerman with a comfortable double-digit lead over his Republican opponent, Sen. Joe Benning.
Zuckerman, a Massachusetts native who lost his most recent election for governor in his adopted home state, decided when he recently turned 51 to drop the 'tail.

"It’s definitely going to take some getting used to this new ‘do, but I’m looking forward to hitting the campaign trail with a new look," he said on his Facebook page in mid-August.
Six weeks later the new poll showed him with a 16-point lead over the Republican but with a skyrocketed unpopularity rating.
Maybe time to grow back the 'tail?
The poll shows that undecided voters may determine whether Zuckerman's new look will prevail or not.
