UVM's 'Cynic' drops print edition

No one's reading it

After after nearly 150 years in print the UVM student newspaper is going all digital.

"At the time we are writing this, several copies of our last issue of this past spring semester still sit untouched, collecting dust on the lesser-utilized newsstands around campus," the Vermont Cynic editors told readers in a memo.

"In light of all this, the Cynic is once again ceasing print operations indefinitely."

The paper has tried going digital previously and has now decided to go cold turkey.

Ella Ruehsen, chief editor, and
Eric Scharf, managing editor, said they would continue to cover the campus digitally.

"We hope to see you frequenting our website—and perhaps we’ll also see you on Instagram.," they wrote.
