Despite promising to come clean on why they fired their rabbi, Ohavi Zedek Synagogue leaders are now refusing to discuss his abrupt departure.

Rather, board members are claiming that "limited information resulted in confusion."

The very same board of directors that won't explain why Aaron Philmus was let go less than two years after he was hired.

They said in a new statement that they tried to "clarify the facts" - yet they have done nothing of the sort.
The subterfuge continues at Vermont's largest synagogue - which now is considering not replacing the rabbi and instead having a "lay leader."
The lame attempts by a board member to lecture the congregants on why they were too stupid to be trusted with information about the firing fell flat.
° Board president Jeff Potash revealed the synagogue is now "identifying potential opportunities for lay leaders," which means considering replacing the clergy without a rabbi.
In the interim, the board has appointed the cantor as the acting rabbi - a credential she doesn't have.
