VT Woman Attacked Dog, Used Tire Iron To Beat Partner: Police

A 21-year-old Corinth woman is also accused of attacking a random woman, ripping her hair out and punching her in the face, police said.

BRADFORD, VT — A Vermont woman is facing numerous charges after state police said she beat her partner with a tire iron and tried to run them over with a car before attacking their dog and a stranger in the parking lot of Bradford gas station.

Kelsey Farias, 21, of Corinth, was charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated domestic assault, resisting arrest, animal cruelty, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and reckless endangerment following the Aug. 13 attack, Vermont State police said.

According to authorities, police were called to Jiffy Mart shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they saw Farias run toward a random woman in the gas station parking lot, taking the woman to the ground while ripping out her hair and punching her, police said.

Farias was taken into custody, according to police.

After speaking to witnesses, police learned Farias had attempted to run over her domestic partner with a vehicle and also assaulted them with a tire iron, authorities said. Farias also attacked her dog while simultaneously striking her partner, police said.

Farias was taken to jail and is being held without bail, according to authorities.
