VT's Peter Welch Tests Positive For COVID-19
Vermont's lone U.S. representative announced Monday he had tested positive for the disease.

NORWICH, VT — Peter Welch, a Democrat and Vermont's lone member of the U.S. House of Representatives, announced Monday night he had tested positive for COVID-19.
Welch, 74, made the announcement in a post to Twitter. Welch said he had been experiencing "mild symptoms."
"I am grateful for the protection I have from my vaccine and booster. If you're eligible, please get vaccinated & boosted," Welch wrote. "I will be isolating and working from home this week."

On Tuesday, Democratic Reps. Andy Kim of New Jersey and Jared Golden of Maine also tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. Neither were at the House Democratic retreat in Philadelphia last week, which was attended by about half of the House Democratic Caucus' 222 members.

Following the convention, Reps. Zoe Lofgren of California, Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and Madeleine Dean of Pennsylvania all tested positive.
It's unclear whether Welch attended the convention.
