Start the new year with food that’s both cozy and nourishing in this hands-on class from Chef Ariel Voorhees of Gather Round Chef Service. We’ll explore globally-inspired comfort foods, reimagined with wholesome ingredients, bold flavors, and a focus on how good food feels. These are meals meant to satisfy, energize, and bring people together.


We’ll cook, share, and gather around the table to enjoy our feast—because comfort food should love you right back. Perfect for your fresh start that still wants a warm hug.

These recipes are naturally gluten-free, and some are vegetarian. Please disclose all allergies and dietary restrictions in the ticket registration. Please note we are not an allergen free facility.

Menu:

The menu will depend on the number of participants and any disclosed dietary restrictions, but may include:

Yellow Dal with Basmati Rice and Cumin-Mustard Cabbage Salad
Chipotle Mushroom and Cauliflower Tacos
Stuffed Peppers with Chickpeas and Cheese
Garlicky Chicken and Veggies with Guasacaca (Venezuelan Herby Avocado Sauce)
Chicken Baked with Sweet Potato, Smoked Paprika, Olive, and Lemon

About the Instructor:

Chef Ariel Voorhees believes that sharing food is the best way for people to connect. Through her personal chef service, Gather Round Chef Service, she cooks custom meals in clients' homes to help busy families connect each night over a delicious homemade dinner. And with 14 years of classroom teaching experience, Chef Ariel absolutely loves teaching folks how to share delicious food with their loved ones. As a lifelong student of food cultures from around the world, she finds joy in helping others bring new flavors into their own homes.


Working with Ariel was an incredible delight — not only did she inspire creativity, curiosity, and owning my love for food, but she also instilled a quiet confidence in me that allows me to now whip up something to eat based on ingredients I have. Highly recommend as a cooking instructor!
