• Rockingham town manager to take same position in Springfield (vermontjournal.com) — Springfield has selected current Rockingham/Bellows Falls town manager Scott Pickup to become its next town manager, succeeding Jeff Mobus after his five-year term. Pickup plans to focus on housing, expanding the tax base, and maintaining public facilities, and will start after finishing the year in Rockingham while that town begins its own search for a replacement.
   

• James R. Morse (vnews.com) — Family and friends in Springfield are mourning James Richard Morse, whose daughter and sister live in town, after his passing on December 6 at age 60. The longtime tree trimmer, devoted hunter, and animal lover grew up in Cornish and Windsor and leaves behind three children, six siblings, six grandchildren, and many relatives and friends across the Upper Valley.
