Jason Kessler, 'Unite The Right' Rally Organizer, Chased Away By Protesters At Press Conference (VIDEO)

Protesters drowned out Kessler as he attempted to speak at the press conference, later chasing him from the scene.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Jason Kessler, the organizer of Saturday's white nationalist "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville that was marred with violence and death, was chased away by protesters as he tried to hold a press conference in the city Sunday afternoon.

Virginia State Police was on scene at the press conference Sunday and video posted by the agency showed a heavy police presence. Protesters gathered at the scene could be heard chanting the slogan "we are unstoppable, another world is possible."

Video posted by local news channel NBC29 shows Kessler was completely drowned out by protesters as he was trying to speak. He is later seen running from the scene as cameras follow him as do protesters, yelling at him to leave. As Kessler ran, he was chased by angry protesters who shoved him. Kessler was also punched as he fled the scene, The Daily Progress reported.

"Shame, shame!" the protesters shouted in unison before Kessler began speaking.

Robert K. Litzenberger, 47, of Charlottesville, was charged with misdemeanor assault and battery after a trooper saw him spit on Kessler, The Daily Progress reported.
