More Affordable Units Planned With Approved Southwest Quadrant Redevelopment (patch.com) — Alexandria City Council has unanimously approved a major affordable housing redevelopment in Old Town’s Southwest Quadrant, expanding one block of Olde Towne West from 34 to 145 income-restricted units. The Alfred Street Baptist Church partnership promises right-to-return for current tenants, deep affordability for very low-income households, and upgrades like green space, Wilkes Street Park improvements, and underground parking, with construction targeted to start in 2027.
