Former Washington Wizards Join Open House Celebration At Bowlero Annandale

Hundreds of people came to Annandale Sunday to enjoy an open house at Bowlero Annandale, where they got to bowl for free and get autographs.

ANNANDALE, VA — Hundreds of people came to Annandale on Sunday to enjoy an open house at Bowlero Annandale, where they got to bowl for free, play free arcade games and get autographs from former Washington Bullets and Wizards players.

Bowlero Annandale also welcomed back the public with raffle prizes, swag bags and a giant cheeseburger.

Former Washington Bullets/Wizards Etan Thomas, Gheorghe Muresan and Michael Adams signed autographs for people in attendance. Wizards mascot G-Wiz also mingled in the crowd, stopping for photos with both young and old fans.

Adams, who was an NBA All-Star for the Bullets in 1992 and went into coaching in the professional and college ranks after retiring from playing, told Patch that Bowlero Annandale "is an awesome place to visit."

"They did a good job with the place," Adams said.

In January 2020, Bowlero Corp. announced the transformation of the AMF Annandale Lanes into the all new Bowlero Annandale. The 41,000-square-foot venue features blacklight bowling, an interactive arcade, and upscale food and beverage.

But then the COVID-19 pandemic hit and the fun and games at Bowlero Annandale were put on hold.

With the open house, Bowlero Annandale welcomed back residents, giving them an opportunity to see how the facility has been modernized and made more fun from its days as AMF Annandale.

In Northern Virginia, Bowlero also has locations in Arlington, Tysons and Centreville. Bowlero also owns several Bowl America locations in the region.

Bowlero Annandale is located at 4245 Markham St. in Annandale, just off Little River Turnpike.
