Elton John Returns, AUMC Consignment Sale, Christmas Bazaar

Happy Veterans Day, Annandale! With only 17 days left to go until Thanksgiving, there's a bunch of holiday craft fairs, as well as community meetings, happening in our area this week. Here's a look at some local events to look forward to in the next few days.

1. The Mason District Council of Community Associations will host a meeting on the proposed residential studio units (RSU’s) in Fairfax County on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School. Sleepy Hollow is located at 3333 Sleepy Hollow Road in Falls Church. Officials from the Fairfax County Office of Zoning are scheduled to speak.
2. The Braddock District Council of Community Associations will hold their next meeting on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Braddock Hall, which is located in the Kings Park Library, 9000 Burke Lake Rd., in Burke.
3. St. Alban’s Episcopal Church, located at 6800 Columbia Pike in Annandale, will host their annual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. There will be toys, books, baked goods and more for sale. Kids will also have a chance to take photos with Santa Claus during the bazaar. 
4. Also on Saturday, there will be a Weekday Preschool Consignment Sale at Annandale United Methodist Church, located at 6935 Gallows Rd., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Gently used clothing, furniture and books will be available for sale. Details.
5. Elton John: Elton John returns to DC this week after eight years. He'll play the Verizon Center at 8 p.m. Thursday. More information here.
