Fairfax School for Students with Special Challenges Opens New Parking Lot
Made possible with materials and labor from 28 local construction firms. Ribbon-cutting was held Monday.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- In all, 28 local contractors working with the Heavy Construction Contractors Association have donated 800 hours plus materials to rebuild a parking lot and sidewalks for the nonprofit PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families’ School in Annandale, which serves youth with emotional, behavioral and academic challenges.
PHILLIPS Programs for Children and Families hosted a ribbon-cutting Monday to celebrate its new parking lot and sidewalks for its school in Annandale, located at 7010 Braddock Road. When PHILLIPS -- a nonprofit that helps youth from around the region with special challenges succeed — needed to repair and upgrade its 27-year old parking lot and sidewalks, the Heavy Construction Contractor's Association (HCCA) and 28 of its local members stepped up, donating more than 800 hours, plus materials, to make this possible.
Valued at $150,000, the project included:
