Three adults have been displaced because of the fire.

A group of adults were able to escape a burning Annandale home unharmed after a fire broke out Monday.
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department units responded to a call about a house fire in the 4000 block of Andrea Avenue around 4:25 p.m., according to a news release. Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire at the rear of the home and the basement upon arrival.
A family friend was able to warn the two adults present in the home about the fire in time and they were able to escape without injury before firefighters arrived. It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to get the fire under control.
Fire investigators have ruled the fire as accidental. The fire was started by a torch being used by a worker in the basement, the release states.
Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000. Three adults have been displaced and have accepted Red Cross support.
