Amazon Holding Career Day In Arlington
Amazon will hold a career day in Arlington next week as the company ramps up efforts to establish its second headquarters.
ARLINGTON, VA — It's been almost a year since Amazon chose Arlington as the location for its second headquarters, and the online retail behemoth is ramping up hiring in earnest.
Amazon will hold a career day in Arlington on Sept. 17 from 11:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. at The Grounds at 1102 S. Eads St.
"Join us at Amazon Career Day Arlington and learn more about building the future with us," the website states.

The event is free and open to the public, although visitors are requested to register in advance to help organizers plan.
Amazon won't be hiring at the event, however.

"We will not be conducting interviews or taking applications at the events, however recruiters will be on-hand to talk to candidates about the thousands of open roles at Amazon across the U.S.," the website states. "We will also have detailed information on how to view and apply for specific open roles after the event."
Amazon claims it will create 25,000 new jobs in Arlington over the next 12 years. However, critics have questioned these numbers, and skepticism of the claim is one of the reasons the proposed campus in New York fell through.
