Arlington Man Dies In Moped Crash In Courthouse Area: Police

An Arlington man died in a moped crash in the Courthouse area Friday night, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man died in a moped crash in the Courthouse area Friday night, according to the Arlington County Police Department.

The driver of the moped, 44-year-old Solomon Zeleke, was travelling eastbound on Clarendon Boulevard on a moped “at a high-rate of speed” when the moped left the road and struck a utility pole, police said.

Police were dispatched to the scene of the crash in the 1900 block of Clarendon Boulevard at about 9:45 p.m. on Friday. Zeleke was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
