ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington resident startled a would-be burglar who was trying to get into the home Sunday night, police say.

Police were called to the 2000 block of Columbia Pike at around 9:52 p.m. on Sept. 8 to a report of a burglary, according to a report from the Arlington County Police Department.

"[T]he victim was inside his residence when he heard noise coming from the front door," the report states. "He then observed an unknown male suspect opening the door to his residence. The victim yelled at the suspect, prompting him to flee prior to police arrival."

Police described the suspect as a "male Pacific Islander with a bald head, 30-40 years old, approximately 5’7” and 170-200 lbs."
