Arlington's Notable Trees

Arlington has 265 trees specially designated as 'notable.' Here's the list of the trees added in 2013.

Arlington has added 19 Notable Trees to its growing list of large, old and interesting local trees in April. Among them: a yellowwood, an American sycamore and a pecan tree.

"Trees may be nominated based on size, age, species, historical interest or because they have a special significance to the neighborhood," according to Arlington County.

The full list, which started in 1987, now includes 265 local trees of importance.
