ARLINGTON, VA — A 59-year-old man that Arlington County police first reported as missing on Wednesday afternoon was found deceased in a wooded area Thursday off of Columbia Pike, according to reports

Rodney Elliott of Arlington was last seen Saturday morning in the 4500 block of S. Four Mile Run Drive, ACPD posted Wednesday, at 3:35 p.m., on social media.

On Thursday, around 2:15 p.m., officers responded to a wooded area near the intersection of Columbia Pike and South Four Mile Run Road for the report of a body being found near the creek, according to ARLNow.

At 9:50 p.m., ACPD posted the following update on its official X account:

"Sadly, Mr. Elliot was presumably located deceased earlier today, pending official confirmation of ID by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. ACPD is conducting a death investigation & preliminarily, no foul play suspected. Our condolences are with his friends/family."
