Bomb Threat Closes Arlington National Cemetery To Visitors

Arlington National Cemetery was closed to the public Friday as cemetery officials and local law enforcement investigated a bomb threat.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington National Cemetery said Friday afternoon that nothing suspicious was found at the cemetery in response to a bomb threat received earlier in the day.

Law enforcement officials "safely cleared" all areas of the cemetery, the cemetery said shortly after 3 p.m.

Arlington National Cemetery will remain closed for the rest of the day to all visitors. "We're working with families to ensure that funerals scheduled earlier will be conducted later today," the cemetery said.
